OAKS TAKE TWO IN DOUBLE HEADER
THOUSAND
OAKS,
The Oaks
were scoreless until the fourth inning. Right fielder Kenny Hatcher hit a
double to deep center field to score two runs. With an additional run in the
bottom of the sixth, the Oaks sealed the 3-1 victory in the shortened seven
inning game. Starting pitcher Jordan Lindebaum saw
only one run on four hits, walked three, and struck out three in seven complete
innings of work.
Game two
was another successful campaign for the Oaks. The first run of the game was a
home run by first baseman David Casey. RBI singles by right fielder Kyle Jones
and second baseman Jack Marder would score two runs in the bottom of the ninth
to tie the game. Extra innings lead to the Oaks finishing the game in the
bottom of the twelfth inning. Casey was intentionally walked to load the bases
but catcher Matt Scioscia singled to left center for the RBI that would give
the Oaks a 4-3 victory.
The Oaks
return to Sparky Anderson field on Tuesday, July 28th to take on
league rivals, the Santa Barbara Foresters at 5:00pm.
