Casey Leads Oaks to CCL Victory

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- The Conejo Oaks (26-20, 9-10) improved their California Collegiate League record as they defeated the Urban Youth Academy Barons 9-5 on Friday at Sparky Anderson Field.

Going into the bottom of the fourth inning and down by one run, the Oaks were able to regain the lead when first baseman David Casey hit a two run homer over the right field fence, his fifth of the season. Casey had a stellar night for the Oaks, going 3-4, all of which were for extra bases, six RBI and one run scored.

The next inning was even more productive for the Oaks as they pulled ahead of the Barons by five runs. Center fielder Kyle Jones singled to center field to score Tyler Smith. Jones had an impressive game as he went 2-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. A double down the right field line by Casey scored three more runs for the inning.

The next home game for the Oaks will be Saturday the 25th in a double header as they continue their CCL series with the Barons from Urban Youth Academy. Game one will begin at noon with game two to follow at 3:00pm Come cheer on the Oaks in their final week of summer baseball!
