Second Straight One Run Ballgame

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- The Conejo Oaks (21-16, 7-10) came up with the same result for the second game in a row. The team was defeated by California Collegiate League rivals, the Santa Maria Packers by only one run, falling 6-7 on Wednesday afternoon.

Second baseman Jack Marder led the team, going 2-4 with three RBI. Marder also stole a base and had a sacrifice bunt to put runners in scoring position.

The ninth inning proved unsuccessful for the Oaks as the last two batters were unable to move any runners on the loaded bases.

The Oaks will continue CCL play against the Santa Maria Packers in their final game of the series, Thursday, July 16th at 1:00pm.

The next home game for the Oaks will be Friday, the 17th against the East LA Dodgers. First pitch is 5:00pm at Ullman Stadium.
