OAKS FINISH SHORT IN CHAMPIONSHIP

 

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Conejo Oaks were defeated by the Santa Maria Packers in the championship game of the California Cup Tournament in Santa Barbara. The tournament was a qualifier for the National Baseball Congress World Series Tournament in Wichita, Kansas starting on August 1st.

 

The Oaks scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning. First baseman David Casey hit a single to left center to score Kyle Jones from first base. This would go on to be the only run the Oaks could score as they fell 2-1 to the Packers.

 

Eleven Oaks players will be a part of the California Collegiate League All-Star Game at the Urban Youth Academy park on Monday, July 13th. The next home game for the Oaks will be Friday, July 17th at 5:00pm.
