OAKS CONTINUE
Game one
started off with a big second innings from the Oaks. Batting third in the line
up, designated hitter Jack Marder hit a three run single to deep center field.
Marder was 2-5 with four RBI on the game. The Oaks had another productive
inning in the bottom of the sixth. Center fielder Tyler Smith tripled to left
center for two RBI. Short stop Brad Greve followed with a single to the same
place to score Smith. Greve finished the game 2-4 with three runs scored and
two RBI. The Oaks defeated the Dodgers 10-2.
The bats
were alive for the Oaks in game two when they topped the California Wahoos 7-3.
The game was off to a slow start until the Oaks finished big scoring five runs
in the top of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded right fielder Kyle Jones
reached on an error by the first baseman which brought around two runs. Second
baseman Jack Marder then singled to right field for an RBI. Marder was 3-5 with
one run scored and two RBI on the game. Additional singles from catcher Matt
Scioscia and first baseman Sean McIntyre each scored a run. The Oaks scored 7
runs from 13 hits against the Wahoos.
The Oaks
will continue California Cup Tournament play when they take on the San Luis
Obispo Rattlers Saturday, July 11th at 00pm. The next home game for
the Oaks will be Friday, July 17th against the East LA Dodgers.
First pitch at Sparky Anderson Field will be at 5:00pm.
