Oaks Defeat Cal Lutheran Hogs

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Conejo Oaks (17-12, 7-8) took on the Cal Lutheran Hogs in their first match up of the summer. The Oaks second baseman Jack Marder went 2-4 and scored three runs. Marder hit a single through the left side and tripled to left field later in the third inning. A Chris Hertz single to right field in the fourth inning would score Chris LoPiccolo for the Oaks fourth run of the game. The Oaks went on to score two additional runs in the seventh inning to seal the victory.

The Oaks will hit the road for a chance to earn a berth in the 2009 National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kansas. The Rawlings California Cup Summer Baseball Tournament in Santa Barbara will consist of eight teams from the southern California region, five of which are California Collegiate League rivals.

The next home game will be Friday, July 17th as the Oaks take on the East LA Dodgers. First pitch will be 5:00pm at Sparky Anderson Field. Join us at the ballpark as fans will get to play Baseball Bingo throughout the game!
