Streak Snapped by Foresters
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The
Conejo Oaks (13-9, 6-7) were shut out on Tuesday
night as they played game one of the three game series against California
Collegiate League rivals, the Santa Barbara Foresters.
The Foresters played an
aggressive game with five stolen bases, DH McMurray
stole home during the second inning to put up the third run for the home team.
Coming off his start in the no hitter against the Santa Maria Pilots, work for
starting pitcher Scott Bachman wasn't as easy. Bachman gave up seven earned
runs on seven hits in his four innings of work. The Oaks defense committed two
errors, giving the Foresters an additional run in the fourth inning.
The Oaks managed to get four
hits off the Foresters pitching staff, three of which were on starting pitcher
Tim Kelley, but were unable to produce runs.
The Oaks continue their CCL
series as they take on the Foresters at home on Wednesday, July 1st at Sparky
Anderson Field, first pitch is 5pm. Join us for this
great rivalry matchup as we play Baseball Bingo in the stands throughout the
game.
