LATE ERRORS GIVE UP WIN FOR OAKS

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Conejo Oaks were off to a hot start against non-league opponents the SoCal Black Sox as put the first run of the game on the board in the bottom of the second. The inning saw four straight singles, starting with David Casey. Matt Scioscia, Sean McIntyre, and Chris Talley followed respectively. Starting pitcher Kevin Gelinas saw no runs scored on only three hits, walked one, and struck out eight in his five complete innings of work.

The Oaks held a 4-0 lead until the seventh inning where a string of infield errors lead to eight runs being scored on four hits by the Black Sox. Despite posting one more run in the eight inning, the Oaks were unable to recover, losing to the Sox in a final score of 9-5.

The Oaks will travel to San Luis Obispo to take on the Rattlers in a CCL match up game on Friday, June 19^th at 7:00pm.

The next home game for the Oaks will be Wednesday, June 24^th at Sparky Anderson Field. First pitch against the Santa Maria Pilots is 5:00pm.
