LATE INNING ERRORS ROB OAKS OF WIN

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – After a last minute venue change, the Conejo Oaks (5-6, 4-5) were plagued with errors late in the game Wednesday night at Sparky Anderson Field. This marks their first non-league loss of the season to the visiting Southern California Black Sox.

The game was tied at four runs apiece for middle reliever Robbie Selden. His work through four innings produced five strike outs with no runs on only one hit. The Oaks took the lead with two runs scored in the bottom of the seventh inning highlighted by a two out RBI double to left field by third baseman, Chris LoPiccolo, who was hit by pitch on his first two plate appearances.

The Black Sox were able to take advantage of an unsatisfying eighth inning by the Oaks and took the lead scoring four unearned runs on only one hit due to three errors in the infield.

The Oaks were unable to come back in the ninth and were defeated by the Black Sox 6-8.

The Oaks will take on the Black Sox at home again Thursday, June 18th at Sparky Anderson Field on the campus of CLU. First pitch is 5:00pm

For fans that can’t make it to the ballpark, all Conejo Oaks homes games are broadcast live online at www.kadytv.com.
