OAKS TOP RATTLERS IN FINAL GAME OF SERIES

 

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- It was a beautiful day at Sparky Anderson Field for the final game of the weekend series between the Conejo Oaks (1-2, 1-2) and the San Luis Obispo Rattlers (4-2, 2-1). The Oaks were able to hold off the Rattlers for their first win of the season in California Collegiate League play with an 8-5 victory.

 

The Oaks batted through the rotation in the fifth inning scoring four runs on four hits. The Rattlers made a call to the bullpen for left handed pitcher Danny Price. In the sixth inning the Rattlers came back to tie the game, highlighted by a Bobby Buckner triple.

 

Finally in the eighth, left fielder Jacob Fiss hit a three run home run for the Oaks to take and hold the lead for the rest of the game.

 

The Oaks look for another win as they head to Compton to take on the Urban Youth Academy Barons on Tuesday, June 9th.

 

Sunday, June 14th is Youth Baseball Day at Sparky Anderson Field. Any child wearing their team jersey will be invited to participate in exciting activities throughout the game.
